After a very strong junior year, the University of Iowa offered a football scholarship to the class of 2024 high school athlete, Brevin Doll.
Doll is listed as an athlete due to his overall versatility on the football field, excelling at multiple positions, not just one. The Hawkeyes extended their offer to Brevin Doll on February 20, 2023.
Who is Brevin Doll?
Brevin Doll is a 6’0” 190-pound athlete from Adel, Iowa, who attends Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. As a member of the class of 2024, Doll put together a very impressive football season during his junior year in 2022. During the season, he led the state with 2,681 all-purpose yards.
Within those, Doll rushed for 1,475 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also added 640 receiving yards and six touchdowns. In addition to those offensive yards, Brevin Doll returned both kicks and punts for his team, averaging 38.8 yards per return, scoring a touchdown on both a kick and punt return. To top off his accomplishments on the field, Brevin Doll earned First Team All-District as well as First Team All-State honors.
In addition to his talents on the football field, Doll also runs track for Adel DeSoto Minburn High School. During his sophomore year, he ran 10.74 in the 100-meter dash and 21.89 in the 200-meter dash at the state track meet.
Brevin Doll is currently a three-star ranked prospect by 247Sports. They also have him ranked as the number six player in the state of Iowa as well as the 78th ranked athlete in the nation. Will Brevin join the historical best Hawkeyes of all time?

Qualities & Strengths
It goes without saying that anyone who is able to achieve the numbers Doll was able to as a running back during his junior season has breakaway speed and the ability to outrun the defense. However, aside from his pure speed, Brevin Doll has shown that he is a very well-rounded running back.
He is a true playmaker and has time and time again shown that he is able to take what seems to be a busted play, turning it into not only a gain, but at times a large gain or even a touchdown. Brevin Doll is a very patient back that has excellent vision of the field, as well as the adjustability to find other pathways in order to gain yards.
Doll does not shy away from contact, he welcomes it and has shown a very impressive ability to break tackles and run defenders over, ultimately producing very respectable yards after contact. As a running back, Brevin Doll is incredibly well rounded and versatile.
He has the speed to break free from the defense, the patience to find new holes, minimizing broken plays, and the power to run through defenders, rarely letting a single defender take him to the ground.
As a receiver, Brevin Doll uses his speed to allow himself to be a true deep threat. Given his overall versatility as a football player, Doll has proven to be an overall offensive weapon. At times he lines up on the outside for the deep route, other times lining up in the slot running shorter routes, and on other instances comes out of the backfield to catch screen passes.
His versatility as a running back also translates to versatility as a wide receiver. Brevin Doll has a phenomenal ability to catch passes as well as the ability to run a wide range of routes.

Brevin Doll’s Offers
While Iowa’s offer would allow Brevin Doll to stay close to home, he has received multiple other offers since the start of 2023. His first offer came from Army in May of 2022.
Things were quiet for Doll from then until the New Year in 2023. He would receive his next offer from Kansas State on January 26, 2023. February has been his most active month to date as far as recruiting goes.
Princeton offered on February 10th, on February 14th, he received an offer from Northern Iowa, he was then offered on by South Dakota on February 18th.
The next day, February 19th, Doll would receive his second Big 12 offer from Oklahoma State. The offers continued to come in bunches, as he received three more offers from Iowa, Minnesota, and Purdue from February 20th-23rd.
Versatility
Iowa’s offer to Brevin Doll is one that would allow him to stay close to home, while also providing the Hawkeyes with a potential offensive weapon. Despite his overall versatility as a football player, Iowa sees Doll as a running back rather than a wide receiver.
With that said, given his success in high school as a receiver, Doll will likely be a very strong pass catching back once he gets to college.
Is Iowa Ahead Of The Competition?
Brevin Doll is someone who has received significant attention since his junior football season and will likely continue to receive offers as time goes by.
With that said, Iowa does hold a leg up on the competition when it comes to Doll as he would be able to stay close to home, should he decide to become a Hawkeye.
